monthly challenge

November 2024

A Snowflake! The image I chose first was just that, a snowflake, but I changed it to the one opposite... "why nige, why?" Because the challenge is to write beyond simple, childhood memories, chocolate box imagery. The challenge is not to look at the snowflake but to 'see' it. Structure, form, metaphor. I realise this is 'tough gig' but trust me, you're good for it! As a sweetener I'll give you my first thoughts which you're welcome to use, modify or bin. My first thought was of a single flake melting in my palm as I watched.

Martin Pickard

"While in my bed, adventure book in hand, I dread the tread upon the stairs that means the loss of light foreshadowing my dreams."
