What’s wrong with shy?

I often wonder

what is wrong with being shy

why does it so often sit with a negative

why do we think we need to eradicate it

isn’t shyness a secret strength

a silent missile of knowledge

that unnerves empty vessels

when shy eyes are upon them

we can’t all be the same

someone has to soak in the din

but for those who like to talk

a shy person is not their go to default

a shy person isn’t boring

more of a clever detective

finding out more about others

listening more than speaking.
