Tousle
It's in the morning
tousle with awake,
that I'm at my most
deliberate, shaking out
the night's blackening
thoughts, furious to
make the day my own,
yet so wary of toppling
my house of cards with
the certainty of giddy
fears, a pause away
from the child lost.
