Time and Tide

Writer: Keith TraylingKeith Trayling

Liverpool in the 60's and it's swinging.

While crossing the Mersey on the ferry

You might hear someone singing.

And if you're lucky, it could be Gerry,

With with his band The Pacemakers.

They were creating new music scenes,

And with The Beatles they were shakers

For all of us in our teens.

Now sixty years have passed us by,

They no longer sound their best.

Because, and I will tell you why,

Their pacemakers' now in their chest!

Don't have a clue what made me write this, but it made me laugh and that can't be a bad thing. Interesting how a word can change its meaning over time.
