The Queen is dead

Updated: Nov 27, 2023

I have always written rhymes in birthday cards etc but since being diagnosed with PD some 4 years ago. I seem to have become much more prolific here is a poem I wrote after Queen Elizabeth's 2nd died.

The Queen has gone we sing a song of sadness and farewell

along with the shock we sit and take stock as toll the country's bells

Such long stability we now shall see on the other hand the Royal ring

The queenn is dead it must be said together long live the king

E. motionally we say goodbye

L. ife ends and at peace, you lie

I. n Royal state to rest at last

Z. zenith reached then quickly passed

A duty complete and now it's finished

B. lazing light has now diminished

E. Elizabeth I our lifelong Queen

T. he journey over this was your fate

H. history will surely call you great
