“TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF”

She heard I was sick so she calls,

“I'm so sorry for you,

 I cannot imagine how hard it must be.

I have to go now, take good care of yourself.”

Take good care of myself? I wonder

when my life is falling apart, I'm having trouble walking talking eating drinking

thinking focusing concentrating, reading, writing,

and “Take good care of yourself “ is all that she can say?

"Take good care of yourself": advice for the ones who would but can't,

by the ones who can but won't.

Better just to say “goodbye”  than …“take good care of yourself,”

when you know that I cannot.
