I’m watching the snow fall
It tumbles like me
Going into free fall
Unexpectedly
Can it settle
Can I
It’s wet
Like my eyes
It’s cold like my hope
Frozen hope I will cope
It does not come every day
But it’s shocking when it comes our way
Colder than we remember
Not the Christmas card picture we sent in December
It’s dark out my window
Darkness like the night
There’s dark in my mind
The snow is the only thing bright
I call out
Scared I shout
She hears my call
Comes to me and my sadness
Together we watch the snow tumble and fall
A soulful and intriguing read.
I love the hopeful intimacy at the end
Yes, I like it - though not the snow...!
Achingly moving, you always manage to reach in and pull hard on those heart strings Liz.
