Hello lovely Poets and a very Happy New Year to you all. 2024 has got off to a good start with some terrific entries to the Time prompt set by Nigel. We've welcomed a few new poets as well and experienced a good deal of interest following the publicity we picked up in the latter period of 2023.
Thank you all for your responses to the New Year funding appeal. Our costs are minimal but site hosting, zoom etc. all add up. We set a target of £400 to cover our costs in 2024 and we're already up to £340. If you haven't chipped in and can afford a small contribution please help us to reach the target and then we wont have to mention it again till next year!
Following feedback from members we've started varying the date of our monthly open mic so everyone gets the chance to attend without sacrificing other regular commitments. This month we'll be gathering on WEDNESDAY 24th. Please make sure to register in advance. This will be your opportunity to meet Emily Chapman who has very kindly offered to run a poetry workshop for us (Date to be arranged)
One last appeal, we are in need of a couple more volunteers to join our Admin Team both English and German speaking. The commitment is not a lot, mostly just keeping an eye on membership applications, helping out with events and joining the occasional team meeting. But we all have good days and bad days so it really helps to have a team that can support each other and pick up loose ends when needed.
