Hello Poetry lovers,
It was wonderful to see so much poetry being put to use on World Parkinson's Day again this year. Our art is a wonderful medium for spreading awareness and who better than the members of this group to lead the way in such advocacy.
It's also been good to see lots of new poets and poetry on the site lately. Here are some polite reminders for both new and established members to keep things running smoothly:
Please ensure that any images or other items posted are not copyright protected and you have the legal right to use them. Best to use you own images or to source them from royalty-free sites like Unsplash or Pexels
It's better not to post several poems at once so that other, less prolific writers don't find their work lost down the page before anyone gets a chance to read them. Ideally each page of the Wall should contain the works of several different poets. Perhaps limit your posts to no more than once a week?
Each time you visit the site for whatever reason why not take a few minutes to read someone else's poem, hit the Like heart and leave a comment. Especially if nobody else has commented yet. It's nice to know that others are reading your work. There are 1250 poems on the Wall so far, so why not scroll back a few months and see what you missed?
Hot on the heels of World Parkinson's Day comes International Haiku Poetry Day on April 17th, when The Haiku Foundation invites the world to celebrate all things haiku. Several of our members are quite accomplished in this form. Others might be interested in their Haiku for Parkinson's course. Details here
Don't forget our next Members-only workshop on April 26th and our regular Open Mic event on April 30th. Check the Events page for details
Wishing Peace and Love to you all
The Team from The Wall
