Out of Joint

A child of the 'sixties,

I never grew a beard,

Smoked 'pot' or wore

A caftan.

I was seriously weird!

Polite and softly spoken

And conventionally reared,

I respected British icons -

And was seriously weird.

A 'wrinkly' in his seventies,

I now support a beard -

And a Zimmer frame supports me.

Am I seriously weird?

A proponent of our Monarchy,

On 3rd of June I cheered,

Then wept at the Queen's funeral.

That must be somewhat weird.
