My Man

This poem is about my partner Andy and what happens when we go to the pub.

Arriving at the entrance Both doors opened wide He's treated like a rock star We shuffle inside Ordering a pint of Guinness And for me, his bird, a gin Parking the walker behind the bar I follow him in Dressed like a proper bloke Jacket, no tie Oozing confidence Everybody says 'hi' Downstairs or up Outside or in Out for a smoke Up for some dancing Lighting up his cigar He's not one to brag But he's got style The gift of the gab Dancing together A boogie and a jive Feeling fantastic It's good to be alive The clock strikes twelve We're helped into a cab He's everything to me My man in the hat
