Parkinsons to most folk just means youv'e got the shakes
They don't understand the challenge and how much out of you it takes
They might see you on a good day and say they woldn't know
But when the meds aren't working they don't see the hammer blow
Your shoelaces start wriggling when you try to tie the knot
Your button holes keep moving, they won't stay in the same spot
Your big toe becomes a loner, it refuses to conform
It curls up, its so awkward many times I must have sworn
Your manhoods like a tortoise in its hibernation stage
He won't come out whatever, he refuses to enggage
Fatigue, cramp and insomnia all take their toll you see
Depression and anxiety, the urgent need to pee
Your brain becomes a muddle like its wrapped in a thick fog
Your body like a sloth trying to make headway through a bog
They say a certain choccy bar helps you work rest and play
Well, perserverence and medication gets us through the day
So be strong and enlighten, a new path we should take
Awareness, education because its far more than just the shakes
I can tell you this for sure, without a backward glance
Iv'e learned life's a celebration when you get the chance just dance
Iv'e lost my inhibitions cos life on earth is short
Put yourself right out there, don't stay locked up in your fort
When the demon ties to break you, take the wind out of your sails
The choice is yours, believe me, keep smiling and he fails.
My sentiments exactly. If only I could always remember it
I couldn’t agree more …nice one Jon… laughter really is the best medicine.
