Inspired by recent events
It won’t make any difference
he didn’t pay his tax.
He doesn’t really care
his accountant was so lax.
It won’t make any difference
to his lifestyle or his pocket,
what’s a few million
when you’ve enough to buy a rocket!
So he may lose his position
but he’ll still keep his job.
He’ll just be replaced
with a different kind of knob.
It won’t make any difference
he’ll still drink in Strangers Bar,
keep his pad in the capital,
claim expenses for his car.
It won’t make any difference
which is kind of ironic,
that his pay comes from our taxes,
the one’s that he avoided.
It won’t make any difference
to them - but you and me?
We'll live with the consequences
while he gets off scot-free.
Actually quite timeless.
Great current affairs poem, and not too taxing to read
Really liked this Alison
