Interference
Nan’s telling mum how to raise the baby
Neighbour tells the social there’s abuse, maybe
Dad tells them all not to interfere
This is my business
He makes it clear
Nan tells mum, you’ve got to leave
But a fantasy life in her head she will weave
Where the big strong man is protecting her
Stop interfering, she tells her mother
And the baby cries
Dad deals with the interference with lies
And the neighbour looks away and sighs
But once again the tv picture goes
And daddy thumps it hard with his fist
Now he’s really pissed
Fucking interference
The atmosphere is tense
There will be so much fear
Until the picture is clear
And people see
The reality
This is great. You use the metaphor really well
In awe Liz- powerful stuff.
Especially this time of year when the TV tells up it's all happy families but the reality is so different. Love the way you've composed it, hard hitting and as Alice says, So true!
So true!
