If the World were a Woman Scorned

If the world were a woman scorned,

She would look at you with eyes like glacial pools -

aquamarine and opaque with the sediment of bitter retreat.

If the world were a woman scorned

She would snort like an erupting volcano -

spurting lava and blowing ash in fiery frustration.

If the world were a woman scorned

Her kiss would be a vortex in the ocean -

a swirling tsunami of plastic tangled seaweed and rotting by-catch.

If the world were a woman scorned

She would bite down on her ruby lips -

and shed the blood of a billion conflicts into your mouth.

If the world were a woman scorned

She would roar like the woman raped -

'Why did you not stop when I said 'No more?'
