FLOODS OF TEARS

Updated: Nov 4

Rain falling..,.

Lightning flashing, Almighty crashing

Rumbling, tumbling

Dumping, thumping

Thrashing, lashing,

Splashing,

Drenching

Tornados twisting, swirling

Rocks hurling, rivers rising

Merging, surging, purging

Torrential thrusting,

Bridge

busting

Floooooooooooooooooooooding

Cars turning, upturning

Overturning, stomach churning

Gut wrenching, mind drenching

Accelerating, trapping,

Suffocating

Devastating,

Distant Screaming,

Deafening, threatening

Water rushing, gushing

Unnerving, submerging

Choking, Suffocating,

Asphyxiating

Souls Perishing

Drowning, Searching,

Hoping, Rescuing

Searching

Drowning

Searching

Drowning, Drowning

Bodies floating

Bobbing, popping

Bloating

Bodies floating

Morning breaking

Rude awakening

Hearts aching

Backs breaking

God forsaking

For Heavensaking

Floods abating

Cars mosaicing

Colours blending

Never ending

Metal creaking

Rainbow streaking

Body counting

Cost accounting

Hearts pounding

Losses mounting

Early mourning

Nation mourning

Climate changing

Tempers raging

Life changing

Rearranging

Game changing

Sun shining

Thanks Alice

I wrote this just after the phenominal rainfall, that lasted just a few hours.

It was ironic that following those dreadful hours the sun came out ..thats when i wrote it.

The rains shifted up to Barcelona, leaving behnd devastation

it was the irony i was trying to capture

I like the format of this poem. It says a lot but reads quickly in a poetic way. Why did you end it with "Sun shining?"
