Discombobulated

Sometimes it pays not to muck around with it too much,

when it pops out of your head and falls onto the page.

Best just leave it for a bit,

let it rest a while to get its bearings.

Then it may just, lead you somewhere special -

to a story, or a poem, or an ode.

Or it may just sit there,

discombobulated.

A frustrated phrase

with no fixed abode.
