Coterie

There sit Omar, Sue, and Patty, like-minded friends, one boy and two girls.

wanting to make a difference in the world.

Could a coterie be as small as three?

They were going to attend a protest to see

and find people to join them to increase their size and impact -- to be exact.

To show that they would never conform

they each wore their black protest uniform.

Protesters passing out flyers asked Omar for a ride,

who was eager to oblige.

What luck to quickly find candidates to join their coterie.

It soon became clear to the coterie that these protestors were not to be

Part of their company,

The hitchhikers were exuding excitement.

Whereas the coterie was awkwardly silent.
