I read yesterday was Mary Berry's 89th birthday which got me thinking .........
Berry Picking
Would I prefer Mary, I know can still cook
When the wrinkles appear and bits start to droop?
Or would I choose Halle and live for today
We’ll forever dine on fast food take-away
But are hot steamy nights with those lips and hips
Worth being resigned to pies, curry and chips?
Instead, do I allow the head rule the heart
And enjoy a great life of meals a la carte?
Although women may say we think of one thing
Every man truly knows the stomach is king.
Very good, more like this please. (I’m off to listen to chuck while I cook my roast duck )
Love your humorous poetry. Please attend OMN and share some more poems.
You’re right Martin. My hypothetical musing should be influenced by more virtuous qualities but she does make a mean chicken lasagna.
Right choice! I met Mary at a dinner a few years back and she was glamorous, gracious and very funny. Good reasons to choose her even without the cooking.
