A poem about nothing.
I thought I’d write something about nothing,
I’ve been sat here for quite some time,
you see the trouble with writing about nothing,
Is that nothing at all seems to rhyme,… with nothing.
There must be something that rhymes with nothing
It’s been doing my head in all night,
but I’m nothing if not determined,
and I’ll stop at nothing until I get this just right.
I thought there be nothing to it,
In the end, I had to come and ask you,
I said what you doing, you said nothing,
but that doesn’t mean I’ve got nothing to do.
I just haven’t got time to stand around talking about nothing,
I’ve got to much housework to do
I’ve got a floor that needs brushing, and a chicken that needs stuffing,
and I’ve still got the recycling to do.
There is a big pile of cardboard that needs crushing.
you could do that if you want to be of assistance,
and Instead of looking for rhymes all the time.
why not define, some of the meanings of nothing, like nonexistence.
I’ve never thought about the meaning of nothing,
how can nothing be explained,
It’s a bit left-field, but I’ll give it a go,
after all, nothing ventured… nothing gained.
It depends in what context it’s used in,
nothing can be zero or nought,
as an adjective it can mean no prospect of progress,
or as an adverb can mean not at all
It can also mean something of no value,
or nothing in particular
of course it can mean nothing at all,
that’s bugger all, in the vernacular.
I’ve spent at least a couple of hours working on nothing,
It’s what I tend to do,
and I swear, I just heard my wife mutter under her breath,
“The only thing good for nothing round here, is you.”
It is all or nothing when I start to write,
and actually, I find that quite exciting,
but for the sake of domestic harmony,
I think I better go and help with the recycling.

I wrote a poem about 'Something or Anything'. I think they are friends with nothing🤣
Brilliant - well done.
Something about nothing. I like it
A light hearted piece that made me smile and with my expressionless face, there's nothing wrong with that. Thanks for posting it Mark
