Lost

A long winding stroll, down a cold and windy beach

To a cafe that was closed, and you were out of reach

An early start on an empty bus, paying a hopeful fare

Each stop watching the people board, but sadly you're not there

A walk at the weekend, on a crowded shopping street

Countless faceless people, none of whom you wish to meet

Stand in a closed shop doorway, watch them passing by

Take a tissue from your pocket, feel a tear fall from your eye

Then around the corner, and coming into view

Is the one you search for, made to be with you

Where have you been, I've been searching low and high

You wag your tail, give me a bark and lick the tear straight from my eye

Easy flowing, simple rhyme, huge impact! The word placement, almost narrative read are, for me, the means by which I connected with your words Keith, Bravo!

This was good. The poem read wi ease and the content excellent. As a reader you took me down one path of understanding only to find it was about something different. I like that.
