Hush

hush

don’t interrupt

the stillness

of the night

like a mother

with a new born babe

keep it wrapped tight

hold it close until morning light

don’t wake it

with your worries and woes

don’t count sheep

it disturbs the soul

lie in repose

soak in the silence

feel the weight of the night

in the darkness that surrounds you

your eyes will tire

and slumber will arrive

the silence of the night

will take your hand and fly

hand in hand

you will soar high

into dream skies

where everything is mighty fine

here you will feel wide awake

in dreams so sublime you want to stay

imagination, heart and mind revived

the silence of the night will now kiss you goodbye.

Love this , I was reeled in from the first couple of lines, so many evocative images, wonderful well done.

That really appeals to my senses, the imagey is beautiful and as a complete message is really important. I'm just dipping into a few poems today as i have a busy day now. Would love to look at lots more poets and poets when I have more time to explore
